Deliverables

All public deliverables will be available for download below.

Work Package No.1 – Foundational framework and stakeholder engagement

To set the tone for the proper project progress through the drafting of a guideline document gathering technical specifications, the agreed protocols for the CIRCBUILT project, and regulatory frameworks. This preparatory WP will also allow the consortium to define its strategy for stakeholders’ engagement and collaboration.

Work Package No.2 – Paving the way to circular value chains and design of the products

To establish circular value chains for secondary bio-based materials in construction, based on an upgrade of the Synergy Builder tool (PR1). This includes refining these materials (PR2), creating new value chains, and sourcing them on a large scale. Additionally, it involves participatory design of the products with relevant stakeholders to promote sustainable practices, circular economy and aesthetics.

Work Package No.3 – Lab-scale development of intermediate components and compatibility assessment

To develop and optimise bio-based intermediate components (ICs) at lab-scale (PR3 to 6). This involves formulating the ICs, investigating new properties, and ensuring compatibility through rigorous testing. The goal is to validate these ICs for upscaling

Work Package No.4 – Upscale of materials and manufacturing processes towards final products and validation at TRL5

To upscale the bio-based ICs and associated manufacturing processes to produce the project’s four final products (PR7 to 10) and validate them at TRL5. This involves upscaling selected recipes, assembling components into final products, and conducting rigorous testing to ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Work Package No.5 – Techno-economic, social, and environmental impact assessment

To evaluate the comprehensive impacts of the proposed bio-based ICs and products. This WP is crucial for ensuring that the ICs/products not only meet environmental and economic standards but also support sustainable practices and circular economy principles in the construction sector.

Work Package No.6 – Exploitation for preparing the industrial future of the secondary bio-based materials and products

To enable the industrial adoption of the CIRCBUILT ICs and products by identifying market opportunities, developing a path to full-scale production, and ensuring their effective commercialisation. It also focuses on practical applications and policy recommendations to support their integration into the construction sector (all in PR11)

To evaluate the comprehensive impacts of the proposed bio-based ICs and products. This WP is crucial for ensuring that the ICs/products not only meet environmental and economic standards but also support sustainable practices and circular economy principles in the construction sector.
